Blimps Collect 4-2 Win Over Pilgrims
|
The Blimps grabbed a win, 4-2, at Field of Plenty, overcoming a fine effort from Providence pitcher César Sandoval. Sandoval went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Akron is now 24-25, Providence 19-30.
Akron used the clutch hitting of Jorge Hernández to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blimps ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Hernández said.
