The Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Akron Blimps, 4-2, in USSL Double A action at Imps Park. Ithaca pitcher Ánibal Fernández had a standout performance. The win elevated the Fighting Imps to 24-22.
Timothy Hayes, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in doubles with 11, helped out the Ithaca cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the right fielder was 2-4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 2 runs.
Hayes told a Ithaca Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
