6-3 Loss Deepens Toledo Funk
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs weathered a fine game by Toledo catcher Mario Torres to upend the Saboteurs, 6-3, at Experimental Stadium. Torres slugged 2 home runs. Francisco Díaz got credit for the save for Gwinnett. It was his 11th of the year. Toledo is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
Mike Williams came through for Gwinnett when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he hit a two-strike fastball to center field, staking his team to a 3-2 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Williams told the Gwinnett Times.
