The Squirrel Hill Pierogis did just enough to sneak past the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 4-3, at Imps Park. Squirrel Hill third baseman Dave Hall, in particular, had a standout performance. Jack Herer closed the game out for Squirrel Hill, earning his 2nd save. Squirrel Hill now has a 3-game win streak.
Squirrel Hill used a clutch hit from Kane Blackwood to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Pierogis ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
In postgame comments, Blackwood said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
