Wise Goes Off, But Blimps Win
The Akron Blimps overcame a fine performance by Ithaca center fielder Lou Wise to defeat the Fighting Imps, 7-6, at Goodyear Hanger Dome. Wise went 4-5 with 2 home runs and a double. Akron reliever António Gallegos picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Matt Green took the loss. William Kelly was credited with the save for Akron, his 7th of the season.

Ernie Lewis chipped in for Akron, stroking a crucial 2-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the left fielder was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Lewis told the Akron Herald.
