Fans watched the Akron Blimps and the Ithaca Fighting Imps fight to the finish.

Akron starter Chor-min Kim turned in a competent performance at Goodyear Hanger Dome as the Blimps beat the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 8-7. Earning his 6th save of the year was William Kelly.

In the bottom of the eighth, Akron catcher Keith Wilfred had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Wilfred stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 8-0, Akron. For the game, he was 2-4 with a double and a walk.

"The vibe's good," said Akron manager Chua-kah Liu. "We've got to keep it going."

The Blimps, now 11-14, have won 5 in a row.
