Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Blues
|
The Barton Springs Blues beat the Toledo Saboteurs by a score of 8-2. Barton Springs first baseman Elijah Scott deserved the lion's share of the credit. Scott was 3-5 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Blues. Barton Springs reliever Steve Kittrell was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Roy Crum took the loss. The loss makes Toledo 13-10.
Duluth, Minnesota-born Reginald James came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and the Blues trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Barton Springs on top.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said James.
