Chesapeake Hot Streak Continues with 6-3 Win
|
The winning streak continued for Chesapeake.
The Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas trumped the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 6-3, at Ghost Crab Park. Chesapeake second baseman Manuel Pérez was terrific. He went 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Chris Small got the win, improving to 4-0. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 4.
José Altagracia, who is tied for 9th in the SAA with a .407 on-base percentage, helped out the Chesapeake cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the shortstop was 1-2 with a double and a walk.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Chesapeake manager Brian Cameron.
The Cangrejos Fantasmas, now 18-5, have won 8 in a row.
