Blimps Upend Pierogis, 5-2
|
A 3-RBI performance from Yosuke Daisen helped the Akron Blimps beat the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 5-2. Getting the save was William Kelly, his 3rd. The triumph makes Akron 7-14.
Akron took a 5-2 lead on Daisen's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Tommy Moore in the top of the eighth, propelled Akron to the win.
In postgame comments to the Akron Herald, Daisen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
