Starting pitcher Clayton Thomas was a major factor in the 2-1 Squirrel Hill Pierogis triumph over the Akron Blimps. Squirrel Hill reliever Cipriano Rosas was the winner. His record is now 1-1. William Kelly took the loss. Squirrel Hill goes to 8-12.

Squirrel Hill won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and William Kelly on the mound for Akron, pinch hitter Tony Kessler hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Pierogis fans to their feet.
