Dirty Reds Deal Patriots 3-1 Defeat
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds topped the Boston Patriots, 3-1, in United States Premier League action at Dunkin Donuts Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of San Mateo pitcher Nam-shik Kwak. Kwak, now 2-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Boston has now lost 6 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for San Mateo, had it not been for Jason Slaybaugh, the 13-year veteran . Slaybaugh contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put San Mateo up, 3-0.
"Every loss hurts," said Boston manager Tyler Carter. "But this was a tough one."
