Schroeder Lifts Guinea Pigs to 7-3 Win
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs bested the Providence Pilgrims by a score of 7-3, with left fielder Chandler Schroeder getting the main credit. On the day, Schroeder went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Guinea Pigs. Yoshihide Sugiyama snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits. He's now 2-0 on the season. Gwinnett, now 13-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Gwinnett used the timely hitting of Chong-chun Yi to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Guinea Pigs on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Schroeder.
