Billings took on Toledo in front of a lively crowd.

The Billings Polar Bears and starting pitcher Michael MacGregor stifled the Toledo offense en route to a comfortable 9-2 win at Toledo Backyard Park. The winning pitcher was MacGregor, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4.

Billings used a well-timed hit by Andy Strickland to capture the win. The center fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We won," Strickland told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."

The loss drops Toledo to 6-5.
