The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats knocked off the Lancaster Farmers, 9-5, at Heron Field. Carlos Fernández was a big reason Lake Minnetonka won. The catcher was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Boyd Vélez picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ken John was tagged with the loss. Fernando Ventura collected save number 2.
The Love Boats got a gift in the bottom of the third inning, when they were leading 3-2. With one out and the bases loaded, Carlos Fernández reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-2, Lake Minnetonka.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Fernández.
Lancaster's current losing streak is now 4 games.
