Eiriz Stars for Ghosts in 5-2 Win
|
The Casper Ghosts beat the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 5-2, at Heron Field. The win was due in part to right fielder José Eiriz, who was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Ed Hammons earned the save for Casper, his 8th. The win has Casper at 36-57.
Eiriz contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Casper in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Eiriz took a fastball from Gelana Maitho and stroked the home run to right. His 15th home run of the season allowed the Ghosts to leap in front, 4-2.
"Winning never gets dull," said Eiriz.
