|
Lancaster Farmers starter Andrew Shoemaker pitched his team past the Crescent City Krewe, 5-2. Shoemaker, now 3-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Lancaster, at 38-52, holds down 10th place in the Menard's AA.
Lancaster used the timely hitting of Jack Lazarus to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Farmers on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Lazarus told the Lancaster Bulletin.
