Highlanders Hang 5-2 Loss on Krewe
|
Crescent City got a decent performance from pitcher Dave Farris, but it wasn't enough to beat the Asheville Highlanders. Asheville won the Asheville Park contest, 5-2. Farris threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Cory Black picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-1. Dave Farris was tagged with the loss. The Highlanders sport a record of 31-48.
The Highlanders got a big at-bat from right fielder Gabriel Montaño. For the game, Montaño was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season gave Asheville a 4-2 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Montaño.
