The Asheville Highlanders and Yakima Hops were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Yakima picked up a win at Asheville Park, toppling the Asheville Highlanders, 8-3. Pitcher Jason Kofod was one of the reasons the Hops triumphed. Kofod, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 2 walks.
