Nationals Improve to 43-23 with 7-3 Win
|
The Ottawa Nationals topped the Asheville Highlanders, 7-3, in M3L Double A action at Nationals Park. The standout performance belonged to Ottawa pitcher and Somerset, Kentucky, native Ethan Morse. Morse, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Ottawa now has a 3-game win streak.
Dennis Lowery had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Ottawa. He came through with a 2-run single to put Ottawa in front, 5-1.
"I like our moxie," said Nationals manager Justin Broadfoot.
