Fur Traders Stick Highlanders with 7-4 Loss
|
The Tacoma Fur Traders defeated the Asheville Highlanders, 7-4, in M3L Double A action at Asheville Park. Tacoma pitcher Enrique Montoya had a standout performance. Montoya, now 1-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Fur Traders.
Paul Kinnevan, the 23-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Kinnevan contributed a 2-run single in the top of the sixth inning to put Tacoma up, 5-3.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kinnevan told the Tacoma Herald. "It's as simple as that."
