The Yakima Hops beat the Casper Ghosts, 7-3, at The Graveyard. Yakima center fielder Albert Devigorerrazuriz collected 1 single and 3 doubles, while driving in 1 runs. Cedric Carey, the winning pitcher, is now 4-5. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 0. The win puts the Hops at 35-22, while the Ghosts drop to 24-33.
The Hops got a big boost from shortstop Dave Moody who had a run-scoring walk in the top of the third inning off Ghosts hurler Ignacio Pérez. It was his 13th walk of the season and put Yakima on top, 4-3.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Yakima manager Gerald Clark.
