Krewe Get Past Asheville for 5-4 Win
Asheville got a decent performance from pitcher Yermolay Olhivsky, but it wasn't enough to beat the Crescent City Krewe. Crescent City won the Field of the Krewe contest, 5-4. Olhivsky threw 5.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Crescent City reliever Kelly Knowles picked up the win to move to 1-0. Gil Farrell suffered the loss. Carl Keller finished the game for Crescent City and earned his 16th save.

Crescent City took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 2nd, Juan Jiménez hit a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Krewe.

"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Carlos Pérez, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
