Fans watched the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats and the Tacoma Fur Traders fight to the finish.

The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats did just enough to secure a victory over the Tacoma Fur Traders, 5-4, at Ballpark of Tacoma. Nobody did more than pitcher Tim Reese. Reese went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-3. Stephen Hollingsworth sewed up the save, his 1st.

Lake Minnetonka used the bat of Chris Sanders to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Love Boats ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"This is a very good team," said Reese. "We have the chance to do something special."

The 7th-place Fur Traders have dropped 4 straight games.
