Losing Streak Continues for Ghosts with 7-4 Loss to Highlanders
|
Casper got a decent performance from pitcher Otton Asmus, but it wasn't enough to beat the Asheville Highlanders. Asheville won the The Graveyard contest, 7-4. Asmus threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Eric Summers was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The Ghosts, at 15-25, have lost 8 in a row.
Asheville used the timely hitting of Rafael Riquelme to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Highlanders on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Casper manager Mesa Altuve.
