The Ottawa Nationals got a stellar performance from pitcher Sixto Reyes, who handcuffed the Lake Minnetonka offense en route to a win, 3-0, at Nationals Park. Reyes, the winner, moves to 5-1. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. With the win, Ottawa pushed its record to 22-13.

The Love Boats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Nationals going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old catcher Carlos Zamora came to the plate. Zamora hit a solo home run on a first pitch fastball from Lake Minnetonka hurler Larry Larsen. It was Zamora's 8th home run of the year.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Reyes. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
