Love Boats Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Blue Sox, 5-4

The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats took Irving pitcher Jun-soo P'il's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Blue Sox Ballpark. The final score had Lake Minnetonka getting past the Blue Sox, 5-4. P'il went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. The winner was Lake Minnetonka reliever Rick Scott, now 1-0. The loser was Jude Twitchen. The Blue Sox fall to 7-9 and continue to sputter in the early going.
The outcome might have been different for Lake Minnetonka, had it not been for Heng-zong Fen, the 22-year old third baseman . Fen stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Lake Minnetonka up, 5-4. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Fen said.
