Patriots Take Down Shredders, 4-3
|
The Boston Patriots defeated the Hollywood Shredders, 4-3. Doing his part was designated hitter Dídac Nores, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Boston pitcher Heath Hennington got the win. He's now 3-1. Seong-hyeon Yi was tagged with the loss. Jorge Gil notched his 4th save in 5 chances.
Tony Parra drove in one run for Boston. In a tie game with one out in the top of the eighth, Parra came through with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Patriots in front, 4-3.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese. "But we decided not to take it."
After today's action, Boston sits at 30-40, while Hollywood falls to 44-26.
