Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Farmers
|
The Lancaster Farmers got a stellar performance from pitcher Ken John, who handcuffed the Ottawa offense en route to a win, 4-1, at Nationals Park. Lancaster reliever Yefim Vistunov picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Miguel Angel Craig took the loss. The save went to Troy Charles Jr., number 3 for him.
Lancaster used the clutch hitting of Jack Lazarus to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Farmers ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," John after the game.
Ottawa, with the loss, is 1-3.
