Blitzkrieg Nip Flyers, 8-7
|
There was no shortage of dramatics at Port Huron Park.
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg weathered an outstanding game by Pennsauken left fielder Jim Bishop to topple the Flyers, 8-7. Bishop was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Port Huron is 40-49 and Pennsauken, with the loss, 40-49.
Tom Gray was the walk-off hero for Port Huron. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blitzkrieg first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Harrison Blackford.
