Squirrel Monkeys Topple Warriors, 8-4, as Kingsley Shines
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys topped the Forest City Warriors by a score of 8-4. Leading the way was shortstop Shaun Kingsley. Kingsley went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Squirrel Monkeys. Stuart Chase earned the win for Syracuse. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 9-3. Syracuse is second in the Silver AAA with a record of 53-32.
With Syracuse leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Kingsley hit a fastball from Leonardo Sánchez for a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-0.
"Shaun is still learning," said Squirrel Monkeys manager Jorge Villanueva. "The sky's the limit for him."
