Pennsauken had no answer for Syracuse Starks hurler José Torres, who overwhelmed Flyers hitters as the Starks coasted to victory, 6-0. Hendrikjan Zweers earned his 9th save in 10 chances. The victory gives Syracuse a record of 49-35.

The Flyers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Starks going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old third baseman Byron Ballard came to the plate. Ballard hit a 2-run home run on a 2-0 fastball from Pennsauken hurler Stephen Reed. It was Ballard's 8th home run of the year.

"Enjoyed this one," Ballard told the Syracuse News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
