The Monongahela Monsters beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 5-3. Monongahela pitcher and Bronx, New York, native Martin Elzey led the way. Monongahela is now 54-30, 2 games up in the Silver AAA.

The Monsters got an important contribution from first baseman Sébastien Guillaume, who in the bottom of the sixth hit a fastball into right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Monsters ahead, 5-3.
