Flyers Rally For 5-2 Win
|
The Flyers grabbed a win, 5-2, at Stark Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Syracuse pitcher Jake Mitchell. Mitchell went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 run. The winner was Wing-fung Quan in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Jorge Torres took the loss. The Flyers raised their record to 38-45.
Pennsauken used the clutch hitting of Jim Bishop to snag the win. The left fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Flyers ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Bishop told the Pennsauken Bulletin.
