Pajaritos Come Up Short at Port Huron, 5-4
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg stopped the Norfolk Pajaritos, 5-4, at Port Huron Park. The Blitzkrieg got a big game from Jorge Putignani, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Joe Allen, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. Norfolk has now lost 5 consecutive games.
With Port Huron leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Putignani hit a cutter from Yong-zhan Long for a bases-clearing double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 4-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Putignani said.
