In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Syracuse Starks defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-3, in USSL Triple A action at Stark Stadium. Syracuse pitcher Mike Hess had a standout performance. Hess got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Hess allowed 2 runs.
The Starks got an important contribution from left fielder Lou Wise, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 0-1 fastball into left-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Starks ahead, 4-1.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Wise.
The 7th-place Flyers have lost 4 consecutive games.
