Stuart Chase never let the Starks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Squirrel Monkeys to a win, 2-0. With the win, Syracuse raised its record to 50-30.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Juan González didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Syracuse trailing 2-0, González retired José Villa to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said González, with a wink.
