Amavizca Excels, But Warriors Win
The inspired effort of Port Huron right fielder Emmett Amavizca was not enough to prevent a loss, 10-4, to the Forest City Warriors. Amavizca slugged 2 home runs. The winning pitcher was Shoichi Iwata. He's now 4-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits for the Warriors. With the win, Forest City has a record of 33-44. Port Huron falls to 37-40.

The Warriors got a lift from third baseman Qing-nian Zhai, who in the bottom of the third hit a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season put the Warriors on top, 4-1.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Port Huron manager Harrison Blackford. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
