Flyers Nip Warriors, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Pennsauken and Forest City, pitcher Todd Johnson was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 win. The win belongs to Scott Alexander in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Elliot Roebuck took the loss for Forest City. Wing-fung Quan converted his 2nd save in 4 tries.
Had Teddy York not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, York hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Flyers.
"We were in it," said Forest City manager Morton Kelly. "We just didn't score enough runs."
The Flyers, at 36-38, sit in 5th place in the Silver AAA.
