Syracuse Topples Port Huron, 8-4

The Port Huron Blitzkrieg got a sterling performance from left fielder Jorge Putignani, but the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys still prevailed, 8-4. Putignani was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Reliever Ron Plummer picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Jimmy Wilson took the loss. The 7th-place Blitzkrieg have lost 4 consecutive games.
Okalani Karri's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with the bases loaded and the game tied, 3-3. The Syracuse catcher hit a 2-run single off Jimmy Wilson to put the Squirrel Monkeys up.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Karri.
