Morel Leads Monsters to 3-2 Win Over Warriors
|
The Monongahela Monsters defeated the Forest City Warriors, 3-2. Doing his part was first baseman Franck Morel, who belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Monongahela, at 35-24, occupies first place in the Silver AAA.
Monongahela took a 3-0 lead on Morel's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Elliot Roebuck in the top of the sixth, propelled Monongahela to the win.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Forest City manager Morton Kelly. "But we decided not to take it."
