Blitzkrieg Rally For 6-4 Win
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg topped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 6-4, with designated hitter Ron Buchanan playing a big role. Buchanan was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Blitzkrieg in the win. Joe Allen picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Georges Cormier was tagged with the loss. Port Huron is now 27-29, Syracuse 30-26.

Port Huron used the timely hitting of Octávio Cruz to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blitzkrieg on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We played hard and won," said Buchanan. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
