Flyers Go Down to Defeat, 6-3
|
Starting pitcher Brian Thomas pitched well enough to help the Monongahela Monsters beat the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-3. Thomas went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-2. Freddy León was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Early in the game, right fielder Brenton Hale had a 2-run home run for Monongahela. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Monsters on top, 2-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Thomas told the Monongahela News.
With the win, Monongahela upped its record to 33-23.
