Blitzkrieg Snag 10-6 Win
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg beat the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 10-6, at The Zoo in Syracuse. The Blitzkrieg got a fine performance from left fielder Jorge Putignani, who was 3-5 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win belongs to Manny Negrete in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Chris Edwards took the loss for Syracuse. The 8th-place Blitzkrieg lifted their record to 26-29.

Port Huron used a clutch hit from Manuel Ortíz to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Putignani told the Port Huron Bulletin.
