Blitzkrieg Earn 4-2 Win Against Pajaritos
|
The Port Huron Blitzkrieg defeated the Norfolk Pajaritos, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at Norfolk Field. Port Huron pitcher Dennis Henry had a standout performance. Jim Hicks, now 4-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Blitzkrieg are now 25-29, while the Pajaritos fall to 30-24.
The outcome might have been different for Port Huron, had it not been for Ron Buchanan, the 22-year old center fielder . Buchanan stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put Port Huron up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We did a lot of things right," said Buchanan.
