Monongahela Beats Syracuse, 5-3
|
The Monongahela Monsters beat the Syracuse Starks, 5-3. Monongahela pitcher and Oranjestad, Aruba, native Gabel Ambrosius led the way. The win elevated the Monsters to 32-22.
Piedade Regueir tagged a home run off Jake Mitchell in the top of the first. His solo blast put the Monsters on top, 1-0. In all, Regueir had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Regueir told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
