Flyers Nip Warriors, 2-1
|
The Forest City Warriors wasted an inspired, 7.2-inning effort from starter Leonardo Sánchez, falling 2-1 to the Pennsauken Flyers at Pennsauken Park. The winner was Fernando Marín in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Michael Ramsey took the loss. Pennsauken now has a record of 27-26 with the win.
Jim Bishop was the walk-off hero for Pennsauken. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flyers designated hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"What a buzz," said Bishop after it was over.
