Starks Deal Warriors 8-4 Defeat
|
Starks designated hitter Javier Seco put his stamp on his team's 8-4 win over the Forest City Warriors. Seco went 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Syracuse in the contest. Reliever Brooks Sexton picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Fredrick Shive took the loss. With the win, Syracuse goes to 26-22, while the Warriors fall to 23-25.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Asvarya Konduru to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Starks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We maximized our offense today," said Syracuse skipper Ramón García. "That makes everyone's life easier."
