Sioux Falls right-hander Qian Pei pitched his team to victory over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at The Zoo in Syracuse. The final score was 5-2. Sioux Falls is now 20-27, while Syracuse is 23-24.
With runs few and far between, the Red Pandas had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Sioux Falls came in the top of the second inning, when designated hitter Don Fowler delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Korbin Dallas and made the score 4-0, Red Pandas. Fowler went 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"A great game, a great day," said Pei about the win. "I can't complain."
