Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Austin Black Mambas and the Syracuse Starks. Austin won it, 1-0. Austin starter Pat Pierce was in command. The Black Mambas raised their record to 16-29.

Elijah Scott won the game for Austin when homered off Joel Baxter in the bottom of the 11th.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Austin field general Santiago Rigney.
