Monsters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Black Mambas
|
The Monongahela Monsters and Austin Black Mambas played an exciting game.
The Monongahela Monsters topped the Austin Black Mambas, 4-2, in USSL Triple A action at Mamba Park. The standout performance belonged to Monongahela pitcher and Bluefields, Nicaragua, native Andrés García. Earning his 1st save of the year was Jeremy Harness.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Dave Montés's at-bat with one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The Monongahela shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Monongahela skipper Sancho Tornero.
The last-place Black Mambas have lost 5 straight games.
